ICY HEAD-LINES



55 CAR PILEUP ON ICY INTERSTATE

We move nearer to our
own weight,
then, with the heft of our machine's,
we continue moving too fast, only to pile up,
as the dead weight grows most unbearable.

TRUCK FALLS FRIM HIGHWAY, EXPLODES

One fell down another exploded
One noise, like a scream for help
the other, a metal scraping fire..

IMAGINE A WORLD WITHOUT GIRAFFES

I refuse to imagine a world without giraffes
I refuse to imagine a world that doesn't marvel
I refuse to imagine a world without great wonder
I refuse to imagine such avoidable ugliness

I have been witness to the four pillars and see no reason to carry death there. Doesn’t the world know that life moves for more than just the sons of Abraham? O! I see the stunned throats floating by in the dusk to their stiff-limbed sleep as metal rains down over the Jordan’s western prophet, children dying there.
