The Pledge Made


Breathe no more war into its putrid reality.

There is never a better pledge one can make
than the pledge of Peace and Love.
Peace and Love are one thing.
Without Peace there can be no Love
and without Love
there will rise a "war" so tragic
that it will never be recorded,
only briefly felt, the truth hidden by noise,
by greed, by fear, disorder... then silence.

(Silence...)

Life will breathe again without our foul use,
the personification of tragedy,
the death of human purpose,
the sorrow of God,
the wet eyes of grief,
the loss of Love and Peace.

I have been witness to the four pillars and see no reason to carry death there. Doesn’t the world know that life moves for more than just the sons of Abraham? O! I see the stunned throats floating by in the dusk to their stiff-limbed sleep as metal rains down over the Jordan’s western prophet, children dying there.
