Four thousand rolled away,
Warriors striding on home.
Four thousand rolled away,
Packed down beneath the loam.
Blind are the men of warring.
Deaf are the men of policy.
Dumb are imperial leaders,
Crippled of a thirst for music.
Four thousand rolled away,
Warriors striding on home.
Four thousand rolled away,
Packed down beneath the loam.
Songs go unsung among bones,
No ears heed the joyous choir,
No eyes observe the living score,
No blood left within their delight.
Four thousand rolled away,
Warriors striding on home.
Four thousand rolled away,
Packed down beneath the loam.
Leaders, blind and wicked are those
With no wings painted upon them,
Only hoisting their wretched talons
Should the music ever change.
Warriors striding on home.
Four thousand rolled away,
Packed down beneath the loam.
Blind are the men of warring.
Deaf are the men of policy.
Dumb are imperial leaders,
Crippled of a thirst for music.
Four thousand rolled away,
Warriors striding on home.
Four thousand rolled away,
Packed down beneath the loam.
Songs go unsung among bones,
No ears heed the joyous choir,
No eyes observe the living score,
No blood left within their delight.
Four thousand rolled away,
Warriors striding on home.
Four thousand rolled away,
Packed down beneath the loam.
Leaders, blind and wicked are those
With no wings painted upon them,
Only hoisting their wretched talons
Should the music ever change.

Did you see the interview with that bastard Cheney? He said they were volunteers. What a prick!
ReplyDeletefrogette,
ReplyDeleteI did and I was rather disgusted, not surprised, but sickened, nonetheless.
Prick is an understatement for what I feel for this man.
He said "so" and "they volunteered" as if the troops were baking cookies. Sickening prick!
Everytime I sit down to watch a speech by Bush or Cheney I discover that I'm out of barf bags.
ReplyDeleteCase,
ReplyDeleteI think I've a few extra. Anytime you need one I can overnight it!
Your work is always very moving.
ReplyDeleteThe swing from sadness to anger is intense for me. But I can't even imagine what it must be like for families and friends of fallen US soldiers much less civilians in Iraq.
Bush's war has CREATED more "terrorists" than ever before. I try to imagine what I would do if my country were invaded and family murdered in "acceptable collateral damage."
Would I be a freedom fighter, terrorist or insurgent? It depends on time and place I guess...and of course, news network
m.yu,
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am glad it moves you.
I too cannot imagine. It is only vicariously, as an artist, that I attempt to do so.
I suppose somehow we are all connected to this tragedy in one form or another.
As humans we are all connected and someday I hope a majority will begin to act upon this truth.
Ah, Frogette beat me to the punch. I agree, Cheney is a prick - and a bastard!
ReplyDeleteWhat do ya'll say about these Numbers: http://www.agoracosmopolitan.com/home/Frontpage/2008/03/21/02286.html
ReplyDelete"U.S. investigative researchers have discovered an official U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs official, but not well publicized count, of 73,846 U.S. soldiers who have perished as an apparent result of Depleted Uranium based bio-chemical warfare exposure. This exceeds an estimate of 58,000 U.S. soldiers who had been killed in relation to the Vietnam War."
"Over One million U.S. soldiers have apparently been disabled from Depleted Uranium based biochemical exposure. Over one million Iraqis have also been documented to have been killed."
"More than 1,820 tons (3-million, 640 thousand pounds) of radioactive nuclear waste uranium were exploded into Iraq alone in the form of armour piercing rounds and bunker busters, representing the worlds worst man made ecological disaster ever. 64 kg (140pounds) of uranium were used in the Hiroshima bomb."
Nobody suppose to know,.. and Nobody does or want to.
kathy,
ReplyDeleteYou have to be quick around frogette.
jakester,
What do I think of those numbers? I've been in on those stats for some time now. Three years or so. I find America's apathy most repugnant.
Thank you for the visit and for the numbers.
Peace.
thepoetryman,
ReplyDeleteWould you mind me posting some of your Photomontage's in my blog?
You do, I won't :-)
good Times
J.
jakester,
ReplyDeletePlease feel free to do so. Thank you for thinking them worthy.
Peace,
Mark
I've never been in Poetry.
ReplyDeleteI would have never understood a bit of it. Barely tryed and certainly never any Interest.
This is different.
I still would not understand much of it, if it would'nt come within mine and Others Reality.
A new 'Thing for me and I appreciate it.
I also appreciate the acceptance of some of my rather 'Badmouth, from this 'Side of the Words'.
The Translator?
I checked, allready some Time ago some Translators.
english/german/english and I also talked to 'Bi-linguists of other Languages.
This 'Programs have the 'Brain of an Inliterate, and can't even translate an Order of Fries right.
There was'nt even a chance to understand the simplicity of my own Posts.
What they do to your Poems would make you throw up at Once.
Maybe you Guy's out There have more than enough to do, trying to cover some Shit of what is coming from your 'so called Government.
And i will keep on 'tipping you with the Proof, that there is no Difference anymore, between your and our Shit.
It all became the Same and wants to go the very same Way.
There will be no Chance to avoid 'Their Ways, if 'We don't start to connect fast.
I mean 'Everybody and fast.
It could have been allready to late with 'Cuba and it could have been to late right now and every given other Day.
Well, that is really something 'Knew and I appologize for my Impertinence.
Respect
J.
