Once Upon Peace


Once upon a time...
Peace thwarted a plot
by those who sought to destroy him
and turned their plan on its head.
The schemers didn't know what to do,
so they got together in secret
and hatched another scheme.
They flipped and they flopped,
changing their minds as a hat would drop.
They tried again to scramble the truth
and vowed to win their silly game
and to never ever get caught again.
Peace just shook his head and sighed,
"What fools", he said of their choosing,
"I'll always know when they lie,
their lips will be moving."

I have been witness to the four pillars and see no reason to carry death there. Doesn’t the world know that life moves for more than just the sons of Abraham? O! I see the stunned throats floating by in the dusk to their stiff-limbed sleep as metal rains down over the Jordan’s western prophet, children dying there.
