Hold of You

"When you care for someone more than they deserve, you get hurt more than you deserve."

Perhaps, yet you also have the potential to learn more than expected.

When pain, sorrow, carves deep within the bowl that is your spirit, it makes more room for the return of Love's fullness...

Khalil Gibran said it best when he wrote- "The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain."

It makes sense. Please, don't stop caring for those that have hurt you, or even for those that might continue to do so, it may well be a tragic mistake that offers no solution to your pain, it may not fill you with what you might expect. All "deserve" to be cared for, bar none.

And to those that continue to hurt another, you must release what has a hold of you, it is not your victim that has you or that can release you. It is the thing that is in you that you need conquer in order to be who you were born to be. Conquer what has a hold on you so that others don't suffer at your hand and that you might, in time, return to those that care for you and ask them for their forgiveness, then you can graciously accept when they gladly do...

Peace

I have been witness to the four pillars and see no reason to carry death there. Doesn’t the world know that life moves for more than just the sons of Abraham? O! I see the stunned throats floating by in the dusk to their stiff-limbed sleep as metal rains down over the Jordan’s western prophet, children dying there. I am here, waiting, breathing in the dusk under the shadow of the patriarch, asking, can we again build the shrine inside the soul and leave our flesh to time? © 2008 mrp/thepoetryman

That’s the human song, the truth rolling out exactly when it should.      (If a truth is told and nobody is around to hear it, does it make a sound only to the one that spoke it?)    Yes, but our ears aren’t strong enough to hear it.     [a perplexed silence] © 2017 Mark Richard Prime
