BARE NIGHT the 18th September Song

The people who are without food are like a bare night sky. Their faces move across the landscape, each one a fading star. Their delicate frames move unnoticed, unexplained travelers. The people who are without food wish for nothing more. They smile at angry visitors who pass by their dwellings and scoff at their bones. The people who are without food see ghosts next to them. They have loved, given of themselves, and they have wept. Like jutting shadows they pass without notice. The people who are without food are like a bare night sky.

  1. I followed the hunger awareness link and sent an email to my state reps. On their portal (or whatever it's called), they require that you choose a category into which the issue you are writing about must fall. Neither hunger nor nutrition came up as a category. Interesting.

  2. I decided on "other" and wonder if that option is the ether land of the low priority list items. They had Food and Drug. Hmmmmm....

  3. Pagan Sphinx,
Yes. I've had to use the "other" box on several cause related issues. It does make one think, if hunger and health are not on the list and there are 20 or 30 on the list, what in the hell is taking precedence over health and hunger?

    Thank you for acting...

I have been witness to the four pillars and see no reason to carry death there. Doesn’t the world know that life moves for more than just the sons of Abraham? O! I see the stunned throats floating by in the dusk to their stiff-limbed sleep as metal rains down over the Jordan’s western prophet, children dying there. I am here, waiting, breathing in the dusk under the shadow of the patriarch, asking, can we again build the shrine inside the soul and leave our flesh to time? © 2008 mrp/thepoetryman

That’s the human song, the truth rolling out exactly when it should.      (If a truth is told and nobody is around to hear it, does it make a sound only to the one that spoke it?)    Yes, but our ears aren’t strong enough to hear it.     [a perplexed silence] © 2017 Mark Richard Prime
