We must consume what we need not what we want. Money is the man-made conduit for wants slippery slope to send us tumbling. Money is NOT the way. I don't imagine we need money in the least, it makes little sense to imagine that we do. It is illusory, which brings me to ask, why build our civilization around it? Doing so makes humankind a wee bit stupid, ignorant, thoughtless, shortsighted, etc? Money allows for over-consumption in its present state. It is not our friend. Band-aids over the wound will not keep it from festering, we'll find ourselves at the exit wound stuffing it with "paper" to stem the flow. Money, which is illusory, should not be a factor in the equal state of Humankind. Cooperation, not corporation or money, is the key to fixing what is obviously broken... There's much to learn from such belief. There's much to find within our actions. Our use is that of sheep if we but do the bidding of empire. Religion, War Machine, Governance, Capitalism, (The Root, follow the money) the reason war is worshiped along with the warrior. One is the root invented by humankind as a currency for goods and the other is the puppet. The opposing thumbs marching into battle! -Calling all righteous warriors! Peacemaker is your true calling, as it is for all. Truth. Let us be true defenders of freedom, let us begin to recognize our own collusion to the destruction of others and Home, let us cease and desist our virulent consumption, let us recognize our duty to Creation, not empire. Money being the currency of our problems is the reason I call it the root, although I believe it is the idea of money to begin with, in other words humankind's "genius" is the root of all that is wrong with humanity. It's so very simple since money is "used" to create too many things that diminish the (H)eartH's capacity to sustain our virulent want. With all due respect, I'm not so sure we have slowed down much in our creation of new idols and I don't think the idolatry of money has wavered or gone missing since it wound its way inside our thinking, Francis. It may have been "hidden" from many people's view, but the church, for one example among many, is certainly a testament that it never left. I am glad that you have found it in yourself to speak out about it, though I sense that your statement is somewhat disingenuous given your knowledge of the "golden-calf".
